Dear Subscriber: I Genuinely Want to Connect With You (Yes, You)
So I hope you open this email
I hate self-promotion.
Not because I don’t have the skills (I’m quite competent at selling other people’s work). But because the writing I really enjoy is personal in nature: I provide insights, advice, or write about various things from experience and real-world case studies I executed.
I hate self promotion because I’d much rather spend more of my time creating rather than promoting.
This is why I want to create a more direct line of communication with you, dear subscriber.
You have read my work and some of them either resonated with you or helped you with something. Which is why you subscribed.
Here’s the truth: I only have a few thousand loyal readers. Despite that, I make my full-time income from my own writing.
This is possible because I don’t spend too much time self-promoting. Most of my time is spent doing research, consulting field experts, and studying real-world data. Then writing.
When I can concentrate on those, I am able to write something readers find fresh, unique, and valuable. Because let’s face it: even the most advanced AI can only give you something others have already shared online.
What I give my readers is something the AI eventually copies. But my readers get it first.
